Civic Holiday Weekend

Posted by Corporate Communications on Thursday, July 30th, 2020

For the first time in a long time the doors to City Hall and several other municipal facilities, including our Historical & Marine Museum, will be closed this upcoming Civic Holiday weekend as we will not be celebrating our annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival. Although our doors have been closed to the public since March 16, 2020, due to COVID-19, we have still been here serving you by phone, email, offering essential services, and recreation amenities. However, for the upcoming long weekend municipal offices will be closed Monday, August 3, 2020. Staff will return Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at 8:30 a.m. to continue to assist you by phone, email, or appointment.

If you require our Operations Department due to a road or water emergency, you can call our after-hours dispatch at 905-835-5079.

For COVID-19 updates, including the new Niagara Region Face Covering By-law making masks/face coverings required in enclosed public spaces in Niagara (effective July 31), and Port Colborne recreation and park amenities available to you this weekend, visit www.portcolborne.ca/page/covid-19.

Welland Transit will not be operating the Port Colborne Community Bus on Monday, Aug. 3.

Niagara Region services for Monday, Aug. 3: there are no changes to waste collection due to the holiday; Niagara Region Transit will not be operating; and their COVID-19 Info-Line will be open from 9:15 – 4:15 p.m.

We will miss celebrating with you this weekend, but we hope you stay healthy and safe, however you choose to #PORTicipate.

Remember to:

↔️Keep two metres (six feet) distance from each other

👐Wash or sanitize our hands frequently

😷Wear face coverings

🏠Monitor our health, stay home if we have any symptoms and get tested
