Canada Day the Niagara Way

 

Communities from across the Niagara region are coming together for a Canada Day first - Canada Day, the Niagara Way!

Join the 12 municipalities of Niagara, the Niagara Parks Comission and the Niagara Region for online activities and festivities for Canada Day. Celebrate with performances by Tim Hicks, Avenue Inn, Great Lake Swimmers, Spencer Burton, Juliet Dunn & Peter Shea, and Rick McLean.

The online festivities begin at 11 a.m. on Facebook Watch. Turn to the City of Port Colborne Facebook page to catch the action!

Virtual Canada Day Celebrations with the Government of Canada

On July 1, 2020, unite virtually from coast to coast and share your national pride with the Government of Canada's Virtual Canada Day Celebrations.

The Government of Canada has some great Canada Day Activities planned for the residents of Canada! They will be hosting two virtual Canada Day shows that will include artistic performances, messages from heads of state, and more! The Canada Day Celebrations will be concluded with a 10:00 p.m. virtual firework show. Click HERE for information on how to access the shows on July 1.

Daytime Virtual Show: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Evening Virtual Show: 8:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m.

The Government of Canada has also released a Canada Day Celebration kit. Whether you are a sports, culture, art, history or food enthusiast, there is an activity pack for you. Click HERE to access the Canada Day Celebration Kit Activity Packs.

Run for St. John Ambulance Virtual Canada Day 5k

Join St. John Ambulance in its first virtual Canada Day 5k. Register to participate online, then run or walk your own preferred 5km route anytime, anywhere between June 27 and July 1. If you are participating on July 1st please make sure to wear some red and white to show your Canadian Pride!

Proceeds from the Run for St. John Ambulance will provide medical supplies and equipment for their community services programs, including Medical First Responders, Search and Rescue Niagara, Therapy Dogs, and Youth Cadets.

Register here by June 19th to receive a t-shirt. You can still register beyond June 19th you will just not recieve a t-shirt. All entrants will receive a race bib and medal. Youngsters can participate in the 1k Kids Fun Run for free. Please do not run in groups, unless it is members of your own household and remember to maintain physical distancing from other runners you might encounter.
