Integrated Accessibility Standard Regulations
The provincial goverment has introduced the Information and Communications, Employment, and Transportation and combined the standards underone regulation, the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). This regulation is now law and the requirements currently in regulation are being phased in between 2011 and 2021. Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
Under the IASR, the City is required to adopt a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlining the policies and actions that the City of Port Colborne will put into place to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.
Accessibility Standards for Customer Service
On December 14, 2009, Council approved an Accessible Customer Service Policy for the City of Port Colborne. This policy and the associated procedures are part of the municipality's compliance to the "Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, O. Reg. 429/07".
